Entry 104: Behind the Doodles
For the past year, I have maintained my daily ritual of doodling on Twitter. At first, I played around with the alphabet, then I played the "Doodle Game" with my brother, then I played around with perspective, and I dabbled with recreating movie scenes.
My favorite thing is to conceptualize my fictional universe that I've been developing since high school. I'm not sure if any of it will see the light of day, but for now I just make doodle renditions of the characters and creatures that populate the world.
I'm not at all surprised by how my depictions of the same character look vastly different over time, since I don't have a specific art style that I can stick with. For example, my banshee creature is not finalized yet, so the form changes every time (DailyDoodles 146 and 366):
But practice makes perfect, so I keep drawing the same/different character of the course of months.
