Entry 149: Just Keep Building

Just keep building.

It's been a few weeks since Day 1293. It was a normal day of evaluation within the walls of Main Base. After updating the charted area of the kingdom, I drew out a map to redesign certain areas and plan for future structures.

It happened again on Day 1293. I was building a sky spire in the crescent snow mountain to record the height limit of the world. Using cobblestone, ladders, and a pool of water, I was safe from fall damage. Unfortunately, I overestimated the properties of ladders.

Apparently, landing on the side of a ladder is safe from any height, but landing on the top of a ladder, even on the face of a wall, counts as a flat surface. It has been hundreds of days since I've last lost a life in this world, but on Day 1293, I realized the lethality of ladders.

Just keep building.

After losing dozens of experience and several enchanted items, I was only able to recover a few of my dropped inventory, since most of it splattered across the side of the mountain. But the loss wasn't too severe, so I resumed my designing and planning.

To make room for future structures, many of the outer walls had to be rebuilt in several sections by either adding or removing segments to accommodate building areas. The western district features a large mountain that faces a vast forest. The eastern district is a leveled area that faced several mountains in the near distance. The central district encapsulates the crescent snow mountain, which is protected by sheer cliffs.

Most of the walls have been outlined and implemented partially, which presents a daunting yet unfinished facade. With an inventory of over 10,000 stone blocks for completing the walls, it is only a matter of time before the "final" perimeter is complete.

One section of the new wall ran right in-between the central and eastern district, which, consequently, also ran straight through the main storage hub (green icon).

The main storage hub was housed in a makeshift dirt building, since it was only temporary. But with the new walls in effect, over 30 chests had to be relocated into a more secure and organized facility, just slight east of the crescent snow mountain.

Just keep building, building, building.

In light of the major construction, word has gone around that cartographers have settled nearby. Supposedly they have treasure maps that lead to hidden mansions deep within the forests in faraway lands. With luck, perhaps these maps could also lead to the fabled Jungle biome that has yet to be discovered. Until I find these villagers, I shall tend to the kingdom and do what must be done.

What do we do? We build, build, build.
