Entry 120: Refound Treasure
A few months ago, I stumbled upon a video for a mod in Minecraft (PC), and more specifically, a shader mod, which adds filter and lighting effects to the whole game.
I was instantly captivated, so I began my pursuit to install this amazing mod on my Mac. Unfortunately, I encountered several hiccups and roadblocks, namely that the latest version of the mod was not compatible with the latest version of Minecraft. After several nights of failure, I abandoned this endeavor.
Last night, I was randomly scrolling through my Like videos on YouTube and I stumbled across a song that I really enjoyed, which helped relieve a lingering stress in my mind.
Something about this song helped me escape my worries for a few minutes, just enough to feel free. I thought about this feeling afterwards, and then I decided to see if that old shader mod now works for Minecraft. I'm not sure what made me think about it, considering that I haven't played Minecraft in months, but to my surprise, there was a technical bypass to fix the mod for Mac.
Success! I haven't had a chance to refine some settings (like two types of clouds at the same time), but the day-to-night scenes are beautiful.
In light of recent discoveries, I'll descend back into my Minecraft world and get another sense of accomplishment.
