Entry 175: We Fickle Humans
As person who hardly loses his temper, if not never, I find it humorous when coworkers are biting at each other for seemingly no reason. Yet they fight for values they believe in, however petty they may be.
For the numbers game, where we are tasked with scanning so many packages within the hour, an employee will complain about the other who scans certain boxes and is able to to scan "faster" as a result. We do this for a reward system that lacks any merit, so fighting and complaining for empty titles is funny, to me.
As I drive home, while maintaining the speed limit, I dislike that tailgater who passes every driver as if he was climbing ranks in NASCAR, yet I grin when we both reach the stop light at the same time. Enjoy the drive, I suppose.
Team effort is also a lost cause, since each person has different stake in the game. Some are competative while others enjoy the scenery. One person likes to talk with all the guys/girls while the other just wants to go home sooner. Personally, each person looks out for themselves, with the exception of a rare few who enjoy collaboration and the bigger picture. Selfless, to a degree.
