Rock, Paper, Scissors - Spring 2013

Rock, Paper, Scissors - Spring 2013

Taught by Associate Professor of Art, Daniel Graham, this course was a 100 level class, so I took it as filler for my senior year. We learned about various artists and techniques, to which I was also an example of a senior artist for the class. It was fun to watch non-art students participate in the projects, especially when they try to comprehend origami.

Collage Art

The only project that I kept was a collage project. Our requirements were to create a collage that featured a print from our dorm, another print from a publication, and a drawing that we saw from a resource book in the library. After we collected the items, we could arranged them in any format we wanted. To some students (especially the non-art majors), the idea of any format was too ambiguous for them to understand.

The first item I chose was a flyer of an art exhibition that I was featured in (my chair is on the right-side), the second item was a clipping from the college newspaper (which I had drawn weekly comics for), and the last item was a drawing of a block reference that was in a book about drawing human forms.

Afterwards, we then made a photocopy of our collage so that we could create an acetone transfer.
